Following the successful launch of the Weekender collection in 2016, the 3318 is now part of the updated Weekender model series, which has been manufactured on aĀ new, slightly wider last. Another innovation is the use ofĀ Rose Gold eyeletsĀ instead of formerly used āblindā eyelets.

The leather of the 3318 is a beautifulĀ Sandstone Mohave RoughoutĀ that comes in a bright gray hue that has a slight beige touch. This color is easily combinable and fits practically any outfit. The Weekender segment is an extension of the existing Red Wing Heritage collection and impresses with itsĀ lightweight and summery look. In addition, the Red Wing Weekender is the first shoe to be manufactured with aĀ stitch-down constructionĀ and aĀ lightweight Hill sole. This model is also equipped with theĀ Weekender Ortholite footbed. This combination allows for immediate, maximum wearing comfort, combined with the proven Red Wing quality. Like all shoes in the Heritage collection, this model is made entirely in the USA using leather from the in-house S.B. Foot tannery.
